What is transformational Breath?

This style of breathwork is a self empowering, self healing tool using your own breath.  It works on three levels- the physical, emotional and spiritual. Transformational breath encourages a full diaphragmatic breath. This technique creates a high frequency energy by increasing oxygen intake using a circular breathing pattern with no pauses between the inhale and the exhale.  The facilitator will assess your breathing pattern first, then use simple techniques such as gentle pressure, sound and positive affirmations to help the breath open and flow more easily; allowing for clearing of negativity in the subconscious mind leaving you feeling more aware, connected, stress-free and peaceful! 


What is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is a holistic practice to activate the body's subtle energy system and remove blocks. By removing these blocks, the body's inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated.  The body's energy centers have been studied by humans for thousands of years. The chakras- the body's seven major energy centers were first described in ancient Hindu texts. The meridians- the bodies superhighways for energy helped guide chinese medicine practitioners to develop acupuncture. Though these cultures used different modalities, all recognized that we are more than just this physical body but instead, energetic beings.  Even massage is a form of energy healing as it releases tension in the muscles and encourages the flow of lymph.  Here at Cape May Yoga, our practitioners are trained a few different modalities of healing: Reiki, Cranial Sacral therapy, Therapeutic Massage and Breathwork.  Explore the different modalities we offer below and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have about what type of session might be best for you!  

Healing Sound Bath

The whole world is made up of vibration and sound has a profound effect on the vibration of all things, not just us humans but even plants can be affected by speaking either negatively or positively to them.  Sound healing uses instruments that create different sounds and tones that vibrate at different frequencies to match each of our energy centers.  During a sound bath, while resting in a theta state, your body is literally "bathed" in various tones that balance the energy in each of your chakras.  Many cultures have used music and singing to heal the body since ancient times! Our practitioner Jillian uses Tibetan bowls creating an experience that leaves you renewed and clear! Book a one on one  or group sound healing session with us!

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic body work involves manipulating the muscles to relieve tension, pain and sooth the body.  Considered a relaxation technique, massage therapy is even used to treat mental and emotional problems such as stress, anxiety and depression.  The pressure and focus on various body parts can be tailored to your preference and needs especially if you are experiencing pain in any area of your body!

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a hands on technique that uses light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system.  Relieving tension in the central nervous system  promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity.  The focus of CST is a gentle placement of hands to assist the body's release of connective tissue or fascia.  This therapy can be effective for children or adults and the benefits are endless, such as: relief of chronic pain, relief of headaches or neck pain and more. Session at our studio can be 1 hour of CST or it can be coupled with therapeutic massage to increase healing.  

Reiki Healing

Reiki means "Universal Life Energy".   This ancient practice, originating in Japan, allows the practitioner to channel energy by hovering their hands or applying gentle touch.  This opens the flow of energy to release blockages and suppressed feelings that bring clarity, ease and healing to the body. The many benefits of reiki include: deep relaxation, stress reduction, clearing toxins, relieving pain, strengthening the immune system and healing from the inside out.
